All about Parents
I read a recent blog. The blog admires the directors of Vaaranum Aayirum and Abhiyum Naanum movies for it had made the audience understand the relationship between a father - son and father - daughter. it was a nicely written blog.
however, the fact that we need a movie to make us understand the sacrifices of our parents is little irony, but it is the bitter truth. In a fast paced life style, we don't have time to stop a little bit and think about all the great things that our parents had made possible for us - they made it possible for us by losing some of their wishes !
it is a cycle - nobody can stop it. my parents did for me and i will do for my children. the greatness of a parent - child relationship is that it is so special and is most of the time one way [from parents to children] and they don't even expect it to flow in the other way. but, when we get into that phase, probably we will understand what little change it could have made to recognize our parents' contribution in our life without a celluloid narration !
btw, one of my long time favourite movie is "Big Daddy". In that movie, towards the end, Adam Sandler [I don't remember the character name] will justify why he should be given the custody of the little boy. He will try to impress his father. There will be few emotional monologues by Adam and on hearing that everyone in that court room will get emotional and call their father and tell "I love you pop..." that was actually to finish the movie with a happy ending. but, the crux is do we need someone to remind us that we should love our parents ...?
