Interesting article from the news print

Dates were announced for the next parliamentary election in India.
The election date for Tamilnadu is May 13.
Results will be known by May 16.
The total expenditure for this election will be more than the total amount spent in US presidential election [BTW, does this point really matter? Why do we always compare Indian events with the US counterparts...]

This post is not entirely on any of the above. I just wanted to list few pointers before getting into this blog post.

Few days back, there was topic discussed in one of the Chennai FM radio. The topic is this ... "what was the interesting topic they read in the morning..." The audience had to call the radio station and explain the news that interested them.

After i reached home, i picked the paper to see what interested me. There was one request from the CPI leaders ... to defeat the Congress and BJP in this election. This news item really left me wondering.

Everyone knows this and will agree that Congress and BJP are the national parties and if both of them are defeated, then who will lead the country from the front ... Do these CPI or CPI[M] folks have that guts to lead the country from the front ... even if they did, what will happen? I felt this to be a news item than kindled some curiosity in me. For you?
