'Dada' is back to Team India

Thursday, Nov 30 2006.

I was very much eager to know the decision regarding the selection of Saurav Ganguly - The Prince of Kolkata, to the Team India. Honestly, I am not a serious cricket fan, but, little sentimental about the game.

Somehow, i believe this guy has got STUFF and he should be given his due respect. The decision from the selection panel that 'Dada' is back to Team India, like any other cheerful fan, brought some kind of satisfaction to my mind and a confirmation that this man has got his talent to fight back all along the long way to prove himself one more time.

The most successful captain for the Men in Blue is now back as just a player who will be put under tremendous pressure to shine again and secure his place for the WC 2007. Though i would select Rahul Dravid as my favourite cricket player among the whole lot including Sachin, i wish that Saurav Ganguly should retire as "captain" - the successful captain !

Congratulations to you, Mr. Saurav Ganguly - our one and only "Dada"

Rat Race and a Mirror

Today [Sunday, Nov 26 2006] in mbc 2 they featured the movie, Rat Race. I had already watched this movie sometime back due to the huge hype given by one of my colleague; i did not like it much. Leaving that aside, I was just channel surfing and stopped at this channel to watch an interesting scene.

Whoopy Goldberg and another girl will be driving a 'speed machine' designed to break the sound barrier. They will be literally flying on the grounds in a desert. When they cross a petrol bunk, the bunk owner will accidently fire his pistol. Whoopy Goldberg and her partner will see this bullet travelling in the air, through their window. You should probably need a little more imagination if you cannot visualise what i tried to narrate ;)

Well, looking at it, some thought popped out of my mind. Let us assume we can travel faster than the light. Or atleast, for argument sake, we have found a time machine that travel at slightly higher speed than light. Assuming such an arbitrary situation, it will give us a facility to see us from the other side. That is, we can travel to the other side and see our image ourselves.

Now a trivia for the day :
In this modern age, there is a scientific phenomenon using which we can still see our own image even without travelling at the speed of light. What is it and how is it possible?

Tickle your brain and have a nice week ahead !

Human being "HUMAN"

A joke read in a magazine.
In a computer fair, one computer was rated too costly. When the visitors enquired about the features about this highly priced piece of hardware, the exhibitor said that it is like HUMAN. So, the visitor asked, does it mean that it has got intelligence to make the right decision? The exhibitor replied, No!, it has the ability to "BLAME" it on others for its failure.
The above was just a joke, but isn't it true about human being "human".

There used to be a nursery poem i vaguely remember:

Adam and Eve are our first parents;
God put them in the garden of Eden.... then it goes on which i dont remember.

The last lines will tell the root cause for all our very existence. Probably, that is the beginning of the human race and all the technological development that we enjoy now. but, that is not the point. How we came into this existence is what i am refering to...

The poem will continue,
...the satan took the form of serpant and tempted Eve to eat the fruit of the forbidden tree and Eve forced Adam to eat that fruit and this resulted them to get thrown out of the Garden of Eden.

GOD asked Adam, "Why did you eat the fruit from the forbidden tree?" Adam replied, "because EVE asked me to eat" GOD asked Eve, "Why did you eat the fruit?" Eve replied, "because the satan tempted me to eat".

This begins the quality - Blame it on Others - unique to the human beings !

If anyone blame others for their failure, i just wanted to listen to their response for the below questions
1. If you did something because someone asked you to do so, what happened to your common sense / intelligence?
2. Why do you want to do something which you are not convinced to do in the first place? and if you are convinced about the idea, then why do you blame others when it fails.
3. If YOU dare not to take responsibility for your deeds, then who will ?

Back from Vacation

Well, actually i came back from vacation as it was planned originally.
But, initially few days, i was struggling to overcome the home sickness; and later, got drown into the ever demanding technical issues in the project.
There were a lot of thought process in the background; the mind thinks very fast than the fingers can key in or make a note of them so that it can be typed in a later stage.

Everything seemed new in Bahrain after i returned back to work. What can i type first?

1. An interesting note on how a person carried his lunch box in the laptop bag [during the ramadan month in Bahrain]

2. A small note on how the team size was getting reduced and how the knowledge transfer is happening to the new people
3. About the Thughlag's policy getting executed in the project ...
Hmm...i am getting some thought burst when i keep thinking about these things.
For now, i will just post two nice moments from my chennai trip.

1. T.Nagar - i went with my family to T.Nagar for a small shopping. The round trip of travelling from AVADI to T.Nagar and back home will take more time than the flight from Chennai - Bahrain flight. After a long gap, looking at the huge crowd in the T.Nagar panagal park was astonishing. Just a snapshot of the crowd waiting to cross a road in a normal evening traffic. Imagine how these crowd will be during a festival time!

2. A photo taken with my cousins [aka "machans"] - my childhood buddies and the best pals till date. We had a get-together during a family function. Everyone have their own priorities and responsibilities. But, when we were together we had a good quality time. A nice photograph of us taken by my wife.
